This page explains how Freestuffbase researches, writes, checks and corrects its guides to free stuff, free samples, gift cards and sweepstakes.

Who writes our content

Guides are written or reviewed by Md. Emam Hasan, the site’s founder. Every article shows an author byline and the date it was last updated.

How we research

  • We start from the source: the brand’s or retailer’s own website, gift card terms and conditions, loyalty-program terms, and the official rules of any sweepstakes we mention.
  • We cross-check consumer safety advice with public resources such as the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) consumer advice pages and official company support pages.
  • Where an offer or method depends on country, state or store, we say so.

How we check offers

  • Before we write about a free sample, freebie or sweepstakes, we confirm it is run by a real company and that it is open at the time of writing.
  • Sweepstakes articles reflect the U.S. rule that no purchase is necessary to enter a legal sweepstakes. We point out anything that asks you to pay a fee to claim a prize – a common sign of a scam.
  • Offers change and end. Articles show their last updated date, and we revise or remove guides when an offer is no longer available.

What we won’t publish

  • “Free gift card generators”, code generators or anything that promises free money for nothing
  • Offers that ask for card numbers, bank details or payment to claim a “free” item or prize
  • Giveaways we can’t trace to a real company with published official rules
  • Content that encourages breaking a store’s or program’s terms of service

Corrections and updates

If you spot a mistake or an expired offer, tell us through our contact page. We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly and update the article’s date when we make a significant change.
